Lima Anniversary: ​​travel back in time and explore the capital’s past with Google Earth

Google celebrates the anniversary of Lima with the special collection “Discover Lima” that invites travelers to take a virtual guided tour, with spherical photos and in high resolution, to the most emblematic places of the capital of Peru that today, January 18, 2022, celebrates 487 years of foundation. Whether from a PC or from a cell phone, users from all over the world can contemplate the vast cultural wealth of the city, considered one of the largest in South America.

The collection begins with the “Most outstanding points of the old town of Lima” such as Plaza San Martín, the Basilica and convent of Nuestra Señora de la Merced, the Club de la Unión, the Basilica and convent of Santo Domingo, the Casa Aliaga built in 1535 and where Francisco Pizarro and his descendants lived; the Plaza Mayor and its historical monuments such as the Government Palace, the Archbishop’s Palace and the Cathedral, to finish with the Convent of San Francisco.
