Quito authorities limit entry to the avalanche zone to avoid crime

“No person who does not have authorization from the Unified Command Post (PMU) will be able to enter that area. For control purposes, safe-conducts will be issued”Guarderas said.

According to the authorities, the flood that hit the sectors of La Gasca, La Comuna and surrounding areas, in the center-west of the city, last Monday, has so far left 26 people dead, 53 injured and 10 missing.
