Colombia registers 239 new deaths from coronavirus and the total number of infections is close to 6 million

With the data from the day, Colombia reached 5,966,706 positive cases, of which 52,988 remain active and 135,757 correspond to the fatalities that the pandemic has left since the first infection was registered in the country, on March 6, 2020 .

The deaths, of which 207 correspond to previous days, took place mainly in Bogotá with 40 deaths, followed by the departments of Antioquia (37), Valle del Cauca (33), Tolima (16); Santander and Atlántico, both with 13.

Deaths were also reported in Norte de Santander (10); Cauca and Narino (9); Cundinamarca, Huila and Meta (8).

As for infections, the highest numbers were today in Bogotá (4,364), followed by Cundinamarca (1,156), Santander (810), Antioquia (644), Atlántico (386), La Guajira (381), Boyacá (341) , Cesar (304) and Valle (300).

During the day, 42,493 tests were processed, of which 19,910 are PCR and 22,583 are antigens.

On the other hand, the health authorities reported that 312,079 vaccines were applied on Friday, of which 99,280 correspond to second doses and 19,521 to the Janssen pharmaceutical single-dose formula.

With these data, there are already 72.9 million doses applied, of which 6.17 million correspond to reinforcements. Likewise, there are already 32.07 million people who have their complete vaccination schedule.

NEW DONATION FROM SPAIN

The Deputy Minister of Public Health and Provision of Services, Germán Escobar, reported today that another donation from Spain arrived in the country, this time a batch of 826,020 doses from the pharmaceutical company Pfizer.

This donation is added to another shipment of 644,670 doses from Pfizer that arrived on Saturday also donated by the Government of Spain.

The official stated that, in this way, Spain becomes the country that has donated the most serum to Colombia because it has delivered 5,101,200 vaccines from Pfizer and AstraZeneca.
