Colombia registers 6,572 new cases and 189 deaths from coronavirus

The health authorities of Colombia reported this Saturday of 6,572 new infections of covid-19 and 189 deaths, reaching 6,014,563 cases and 136,953 deaths, while there are 35,736 active cases.

The highest number of infections of the day was confirmed in Bogotá with 2,717, followed by the departments of Valle del Cauca (638), Cundinamarca (614), Antioquia (395), Norte de Santander (331) and Santander (235).

As for the 189 deaths, of which 171 occurred in previous days, the highest data were in Bogotá (34), Valle del Cauca (20), Santander (17), Antioquia (16) and Cundinamarca (13).

On the other hand, this Saturday’s report indicates that 24,053 tests were processed on the day, of which 13,917 are PCR and 10,136 antigens.

Regarding the development of the National Vaccination Plan, today’s report indicates that last Thursday 247,851 vaccines against the coronavirus were applied, of which 68,327 were second doses and 15,168 of the single-dose formula from the pharmaceutical company Janssen.

So far, a total of 74,290,915 doses of the vaccine have been applied in the country, of which more than 6.8 are booster doses, while 32.5 million people have the full schedule, that is, around to 64% of the population.
