Thousands of protesters in Europe to denounce the invasion in Ukraine

Thousands of people demonstrated on Sunday in several European cities for the second consecutive day to denounce the Russian invasion in Ukraine.

According to the police, about 5,000 people marched in Brussels with Ukrainian flags.

“Russians, go back to your house,” shouted those present. “Stop the war”, “Europebe brave, act now”, could be read on the banners of the protesters.

In Toulouse, a city twinned with Kiev in the southwest of France, they paraded behind a large yellow and blue flag of Ukrainewith portraits of the Russian president stained with blood and where he had written “Stop the murderer Putin”.

In Spain, the protesters concentrated in the capital, Madrid, in Barcelona (northeast) and in other cities for demand an end to the Russian offensive.

Numerous blue and yellow flags waved in the central Plaza Catalunya in Barcelona, ​​where some 800 people, according to the authorities, gathered with banners that read “Close the sky, not your eyes”, “NATO, protect the sky from Ukraine” or “Stop Putin, stop War”.

“They are attacking, destroying and killing civilians for no reason,” Natalia Brodovska, a 45-year-old lawyer who has lived in Spain for eight years, told AFP.

“It’s horrible, we can neither sleep nor eat. I think all Ukrainians feel this way. But my people who are in Ukraine it is much worse”, he added about his relatives in Kiev.

In Belgrade, Serbia, hundreds of people gathered for express support for Ukrainetwo days after a demonstration in favor of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the invasion russian Ukraine.

“We want to give another image of Belgrade because what happened on Friday [la manifestación prorrusa] it’s a real shame,” Zdravko Jankovic, a 46-year-old mathematician, told AFP.
