Between “2,000 and 4,000” Russian soldiers have died in Ukraine since the beginning of the invasion, Lieutenant General Scott Berrier, a senior Pentagon official, estimated on Tuesday.

Berrier, director of the US Defense Intelligence Agency, gave this estimate to a congressional committee clarifying that these are approximate figures that should be taken with caution.
