Biden tells Duque that he will designate Colombia as an “important ally outside of NATO”

The president of United States, Joe BidenHe told his Colombian counterpart, Iván Duque, on Thursday that he intends to designate Colombia “important ally outside the NATO”, during a meeting at the White House.

With this official designation, Colombiaglobal partner of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) since 2017 and the main ally of the United States in Latin America, will strengthen its bilateral and multilateral association with Washington.
