Zelensky: Humanitarian corridors evacuated 12,729 citizens from Ukraine today

the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyassured that all the humanitarian corridors that had been agreed for this Saturday “worked” and 12,729 people could be evacuated from the country.

In a video message via Telegram, Zelensky He also said that a shipment of humanitarian aid is expected to arrive in Mariupol tomorrow afternoon.

For her part, the Deputy Prime Minister, Irina Vereshchuk, indicated that nine of the 14 corridors were operating on Saturday.

However, the head of Russia’s National Defense Control Center, Mikhail Mizintsev, accused Ukraine of preventing civilian evacuations to Russia.

“Information about it simply did not circulate among the population of the cities of Kiev, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Sumy and Mariupol. Kiev refuses to confirm humanitarian corridors for the evacuation of Ukrainian citizens to Russia”, Mizintsev told reporters, according to Russian agencies.

He added that without the help of Ukraine Russia evacuated some 10,000 people from dangerous areas in several regions, including pro-Russian Donetsk and Luhansk, in eastern Ukraine’s Donbas.
