In the resolution, the main representative body of the European Union warns that since the July 2018 elections, when leftist President Andrés Manuel López Obrador was elected, 47 journalists and 68 activists have been killed.

López Obrador rejected the call and accused the European deputies of “sheep” who join the “coup strategy” of their opponents.
