Italy: one dead after bus accident carrying Ukrainians who escaped war

A bus carrying about 50 Ukrainians overturned in the center of Italycausing one death and several injuries, firefighters reported this Sunday.

Video footage taken by emergency services showed the coach inverted in a ditch at the side of the road in southeastern Bologna after an accident in the morning.

According to the ANSA news agency, the bus with Ukrainian license plates was headed for the Italian coastal city of fishing.

He also indicated that the victim was a woman and that no one was seriously injured.

Nearly 35,000 refugees fleeing Ukraine have entered Italy since the Russian invasion on February 24, including 14,000 minors, the Interior Ministry reported.
