Petro He arrived mid-morning accompanied by his wife, Veronica Alcocerand her daughters Antonella and Sofía, to the Marco Antonio Carrillo school, in Bogotá, where she cast her vote.

Upon his arrival, he was approached by a large number of supporters and the press who accompanied the favorite of this coalition, of which he is already considered the winner, to the polls.

Petro It is also the first in all voting intention polls for the presidential elections, whose first round will be held on May 29, and the second, if necessary, on June 19.

“Victory, winning, that is the expectation. The time has come to change to Colombia”, Petro said, without giving further statements.

Petro was the last of the favorites in the consultations to vote, after Federico Gutiérrez, from Equipo por Colombia, who exercised his right to vote in Medellín, as well as Sergio Fajardo, from the Centro Esperanza Coalition, who also did so in that city, capital of Antioquia.

This Sunday Colombians will elect the new composition of the Senate and the House of Representatives, as well as the candidates for the Presidency of three coalitions, in a kind of primaries.

The citizens of the rural areas hardest hit by the conflict will also be able to choose the 16 representatives of the special constituencies for peace.
