Peruvians and Colombians will be included in the flight of returnees from Ukraine coordinated by Ecuador

Several Colombians and Peruvians would be included in the passenger list of the third humanitarian flight coordinated by the Government of Ecuador for the return of their compatriots who fled from Ukraine after the war with Russia broke out.

This was reported by the Foreign Ministry Ecuadorwhich expects this third humanitarian flight to arrive in Quito on Monday morning.

Although the final figures of passengers on board will be known in the next few hours, the Ecuadorian Foreign Ministry reported that the flight chartered by the Government will leave Warsaw this Sunday and will go to Budapest, to complete the boarding.

The Ecuadorian Foreign Minister, Juan Carlos Holguín, indicated on his Twitter account that he had already started the shipment in the Polish capital.

“Boarding begins in Warsaw, where 140 passengers and 13 pets will board. The humanitarian flight will head to Budapest to pick up 73 more passengers and 36 pets.” the chancellor wrote.

In addition, he specified that the staff of its Foreign Ministry that is at the embarkation site, has been joined by personnel from the Embassies of Colombia and Peru.

In principle, it was expected that 10 Colombians and 5 Peruvians would board the Ecuadorian flight, although these preliminary data had yet to be confirmed.

Until this Saturday, about fifty Ecuadorians were still in Ukrainian territory, in areas where the conflict had not escalated.

The case of Diego Moncayo, however, became the one receiving the most attention, since he is trapped in the town of Shotska, in the Sumy area, in eastern Ukraine and on the border with Russia.

Ecuador repatriated 246 nationals in a first humanitarian flight and 203 in a second, in addition to another nine in collaboration with a flight organized by the Government of Mexico.

Likewise, 59 Ecuadorians arrived in their country on commercial flights, for a total of 517 returnees, but many of those who managed to flee Ukraine have gone to other European countries.
