A man is accused of raping twelve women in Colombia

A 33-year-old man was captured in Medellín and sent to jail for the alleged rape, between 2020 and 2021, of twelve women in that city, the Medellín Prosecutor’s Office reported on Tuesday. Colombia.

“The sexual assaults occurred between December 2020 and December 2021period in which the defendant would have abused, at least, 12 women whose ages range between 17 and 34 years of age “explained the Prosecutor’s Office in a statement.

The detainee approached his victims and presented himself as a member of a criminal network that calls itself “Convivir del Centro”who are dedicated to extorting small merchants from some sectors of Medellinas well as the hitman and kidnapping.

Zapata, according to the Prosecutor’s Office, used a knife to threaten his victims who, in addition to raping them, stole their belongings.

The police arrested him when he “intimidated a minor under 15 years of age.”. The victim’s cries for help made the capture possible, ”the Prosecutor’s Office detailed in the information.

During investigations, at least twelve of the victims identified their assailant.
