Russia blocks the BBC website and promises more actions in the “information war”

Russian authorities announced Wednesday that they had blocked the BBC’s website and promised other actions in the “information war” that the Russian government says the West has launched since the military offensive in Ukraine.

The Russian regulator “Roskomnadzor blocked the BBC News website in Russia. I think this is just the beginning of the retaliation in the information war launched by the West against Russia”, said the spokeswoman for Russian diplomacy, Maria Zajarova, on Telegram.

Since the beginning of March, the European Union has prohibited since last Wednesday the broadcasting in the territory of the Russian state media Sputnik and Russia Today (RT) in compliance with the sanctions approved by the Twenty-seven against the Putin government.
