Before the plenary session of the Congress of Local and Regional Powers of the Council of Europe, Klitschko assured that “nobody in Ukraine feels safe” and called for his country to have the political, economic and military support of Europe.

“We need weapons”pleaded the mayor of Kyivwhich justified it because they fight “one of the most powerful armies on the planet” and warned that the Russian president, Vladimir Putin wants to recreate the old Soviet Union” with Ukraine.

The mayor received a tribute from the plenary, which applauded his speech for more than a minute.

The Ukrainian Minister of Development of Communities and Territories, Oleksiy Chernyshov, participated in the session, calling Russia a “terrorist state” several times, where 80% of citizens are in favor of war.
