Shock in England: a 17-month-old baby was attacked by her pet, a pitbull dog, and died

Dogs are the animals most chosen by families as pets for their faithful company and, in many cases, they are incorporated to accompany the upbringing of children. Despite the fact that in most cases this has positive results, there are realities in which children are attacked, such as the one that recently occurred in England. On March 21, a 17-month-old baby was killed by her pet, which had been purchased a week earlier.

The incident occurred in the town of st helenson merseyside. Precisely in the Blackbrook neighborhood, the Birch family was at home when the neighbors heard desperate cries of someone asking for help. Given this, some approached the house and found the worst scene: the baby was being attacked by the dog. among those present they were able to free the little girl of the animal’s bites and, immediately, the resuscitation maneuvers began, until the ambulance arrived. “I gave CPR to the baby. I heard them screaming for help and I ran. The parents were hysterical”, revealed a neighbor according to Mirror.

The baby, identified as Bella-Rae Birch, was transferred to the local hospital, but despite the hard medical work, died from serious injuries caused by the animal. The news caused a great commotion among the residents of the neighborhood, who described the girl’s parents as “very attentive” to her two children. Now, the door of the home where the event occurred was converted into a sanctuary where nearby people leave an offering in memory of the little girl.

Regarding the judicial instance, the investigations are still ongoing while the animal was sacrificed after the fact. “We understand that the family dog, which they had purchased only a week before, attacked Bella-Rae at the family home.”said the superintendent Steve Bricellto local media. He also indicated that an arduous search is being made for the previous owners of the animal -which would be breed Staffordshire Bull Terrier or Pitbull Terrier– to know their background and the security cameras of the areas surrounding the property where the tragedy occurred are analyzed. But, in this sense, they made a special request: “We would ask that we now be allowed some space and time to try to come to terms with the tragic loss of our beloved Bella-Rae.”.
