In a statement, the US State Department reported an update on the status of Russia and Ukraine regarding travel advisories for those countries, which now includes the warning that any American can be targeted. of the Russians.

“US citizens. They can be singled out and detained by security agents of the Russian Government,” they indicated from US diplomacy.

The update keeps both countries on alert level 4: do not travel and leave the country immediately if you are already there.

The last update from the State Department for travel to Russia came on March 5; and for Ukraine, on the 8th of the same month.

The White House ruled out this Tuesday that the president of the United States, Joe Biden, has spoken with his European allies about his controversial comment in which he said that the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, “cannot remain in power” after the invasion launched against Ukraine.

During a speech last week in Poland, Ukraine’s neighbor country that has received the most refugees from the Russian invasion, Biden declared that Putin “cannot remain in power,” but the White House later clarified that he was not asking for “a change of regime” in Russia.

Biden explained on Monday already in Washington that his comment was a “personal” opinion that expressed “moral outrage” at the invasion, but “was not articulating a change in US policy” regarding Russia.
