White House spokeswoman on departure

Fourteen months and then go? White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki is preparing to leave her post to work for the MSNBC television channel, the Axios site, the CNN channel and the New York Times.

The White House declined to comment on the Press Secretary’s intentions. Back on the podium after her Covid-19 infection, Psaki kicked into touch, assuring that she had nothing to announce for the moment, and swearing that she respected “all the ethical rules” within the framework of a possible next adventure.

According to Axios, the first to have revealed the information, Jen Psaki, 43, is in exclusive negotiations with MSNBC, a progressive channel which has already recruited the former spokesperson for Vice President Kamala Harris, Symone Sanders. No name is circulating for the moment to succeed him. His assistant, Karine Jean-Pierre, has already made several replacements.

Leaving after April 30

According to CNN, the spokesperson will remain in post until the very popular “Dinner of the association of correspondents at the White House”, which will take place on April 30, after two editions canceled due to the pandemic.

Jen Psaki had let it be known in the spring of 2021 that she intended to spend another year or so in this extremely exposed position, explaining that she wanted to spend time with her two young children.

The White House spokeswoman, after serving in various government positions during Obama’s two terms, joined CNN in 2017 as a political commentator. She then joined the so-called “transition” team in November 2020, responsible for preparing for Joe Biden’s arrival at the White House.
