Russia closes offices of Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch

The offices of the two NGO of human rights International Amnesty and Human Rights Watch (HRW)were closed by Russia. This was confirmed in a statement published on Friday by the Russian Justice Ministry.

The local branch of Amnesty (UK) and HRW (USA) was “excluded from the official register of foreign non-governmental organizations” in Russia, by “violations of Russian law”, underlined the note. So it is, de facto, a closure, Amnesty said.
