Pope Francis sends a message to Peru and encourages peaceful resolution of social tensions

The Pope Francisco today lamented the “difficult moments” of social tension that Peru is going through, after weeks of protests, and called on the parties to find a peaceful solution “as soon as possible” for the good of the country.

“Dear brothers and sisters, I express my closeness to the beloved people of Peru, who are going through difficult times of social tension,” He said at the end of the Palm Sunday mass in Saint Peter’s Square the dadwho traveled to the Andean country in January 2018.
