Major is going to leave his master again for a few weeks. The Biden couple’s dog will “undergo additional training to help them adjust to their White House life,” a spokesperson for First Lady Jill Biden said.

The young and turbulent German Shepherd, adopted by Joe Biden and his wife from a shelter, struggled to acclimatize to the US presidential residence. In March, he was briefly returned to the couple’s family home in Delaware, after an incident involving a bite at the White House.

Acclimatization training

Joe Biden had indicated to the channel ABC News that his dog had simply adopted an overly protective attitude in his new environment, always crowded. Major had already received training to correct the situation.

The new training, aimed at appeasing the German Shepherd in his new home, is expected to last a few weeks. Despite his departure, the White House will remain under guard: Champ, the other German Shepherd of the presidential couple, older and wiser, will remain with his masters in Washington.
