secret service agents USA shot on Wednesday at a intruder at the residence of the Peruvian ambassador in Washington DC. Sources close to the diplomatic mission told Efe that Ambassador Oswaldo de Rivero and his relatives “are in good health.”
The spokesman for the US Secret Service, Anthony Guglielmi, reported in a message on Twitter that, “after a confrontation”, agents of this body opened fire on an intruder shortly before 08:00 GMT (12:00 GMT) in an address, which coincides with that of the residence of the Peruvian ambassador.
The spokesman said that no troops were injured.
The shooting took place at the “3000 block of Garrison Street” address in northwest Washington, Guglielmi said, without offering further details.
The Peruvian embassy is located on Massachusetts Avenue in the city.
The District of Columbia Police Department noted on its Twitter account that members of this service have responded to gunshots at the Garrison Street address.
