Russia warns giving heavy weapons to Ukraine threatens Europe’s security

The Kremlin insisted on Thursday that deliveries of heavy weapons to Ukraine by European countries threaten security on the continent.

“The tendency to fill with weapons Ukraine and other countries are actions that threaten the security of the continent and cause instability”, said the spokesman for the Russian Presidency, Dmitry Peskovin his daily press conference.

Russia previously warned that it will consider “legitimate objectives” of its Armed Forces the weapons supplied by the West to Ukraine.

In this sense, the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, accused this week the NATO to “fight Russia through its proxy and arm that proxy.”

Moscow also criticized the delivery to Ukraine of Russian helicopters destined for Afghanistan.

“The US decision to supply the aforementioned ‘Afghan’ helicopters to Ukraine grossly violates international law and the corresponding Russian-American contracts,” the Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSVTS) denounced in a statement.
