Over $6 billion raised for Ukraine at donor conference in Warsaw

A donor conference in Warsaw raised more than €6 billion ($6.3 billion) to help Ukraineannounced on Thursday the Polish Prime Minister.

“In this conference, we have been able to raise more than 6,000 million euros and this money will be distributed to support Ukraine and all those who support Ukraine”, Mateusz Morawiecki said at a press conference together with his Swedish counterpart, Magdalena Andersson.

“When Russia brings death, the countries of the free world have to help and I think that this conference here in warsaw He has shown a great deal of solidarity between us,” Morawiecki said.

At this conference, organized by Poland and Sweden, with the participation of the European Union (EU), the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky, urged “immediately agree to Ukraine candidate status” to the EU.

“The accession of Ukraine to the EU has to be an absolute reality, not just a promise or a prospect,” he said.

He also called for the reconstruction of “the regions, cities and industries of Ukraine”.

Hours earlier, the president had launched an online financing platform to help kyiv win the war against Russia and rebuild the country’s infrastructure.
