“The three people are in good health, only one has had a short-term fever and all of them have swollen lymph nodes and pain, as well as the appearance of a limited number of small localized skin pustules,” Vaya added.

The director of the center added that the patients are being treated with symptomatic therapy but added that “there are antiviral drugs available at the Institute that could be used experimentally if a specific therapy is needed.”

Vaia wanted to specify that “it cannot be defined as a sexually transmitted disease or one that affects homosexuals.” “At the moment it is identified as a very close contact disease. It is not correct to stigmatize, but you have to understand this disease well, ”he asserted.

The hospital explained that controls are being carried out on people who have had close contact with the three patients.

Initial symptoms of the disease include fever, headache, muscle aches, back pain, swollen lymph nodes, chills and exhaustion, the agency says.

A skin rash may also develop, often starting on the face and spreading to other parts of the body.
