He insisted that Brazil is “an example to the world” in environmental preservation, despite the alarming rates of deforestation in the Amazon region, which have skyrocketed since he took office in January 2019, due in part to successive cuts. budgets to control the ecosystem.

Bolsonaro, a retired Army captain who defends the exploitation of Amazonian resources and mining in indigenous reserves, assured that this international pressure on his questioned environmental policy intends to leave Brazil “in the background” in the commodity market. cousins.
