“We have identified several thousand cases of what we see in the donbas”, said Attorney General Iryna Venediktova at a press conference in The Hague, the Netherlands, where she met with counterparts from other countries.

Venediktova specified that these are “possible transfers of people, including several cases about possible transfers of children, adults to different parts of the Russian Federation,” she said.

“Then, of course, we can talk about torturing people, killing civilians and destroying civilian infrastructure,” he said.

The Ukrainian authorities have not had access to the areas of the donbas controlled by Russia, but interviewed evacuees and prisoners of war, Venediktova told a news conference at the headquarters of the EU judicial agency Eurojust.

Total, Ukraine it has identified 15,000 cases of war crimes since the February 24 invasion, it added.

The Ukrainian justice has also identified 600 suspects for the “key” crime of aggression, among whom are “senior military officials, politicians and propaganda agents of the Russian Federation,” the prosecutor general said.

Nearly 80 suspects have been identified for alleged war crimes that actually took place on Ukrainian soil, it added.

The prosecutor was at Eurojust headquarters on Monday and Tuesday for a coordination meeting with her counterparts from the European Joint Investigation Team (JIT).
