Several specialists speak of the beginning of a fourth wave of coronavirus in the country, shortly after the beginning of winter, which especially affects the southern regions.

However, specialists have criticized the measure for the threat that the covid and the eventual appearance of new variants, potentially resistant to vaccines.

The large cities of Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro in March withdrew the mandatory use of masks in closed spaces, with exceptions such as public transport.
