After knowing the error, the candidate of the Historical Pact reacted: “It is the right of the people. I’m ready for it”. For his part, Rodolfo Hernández’s first response was “to ask for clarification of the context of what the court is asking for.”

However, on Thursday morning, The former mayor of Bucaramanga expressed his desire to attend the contest, although his approval was not exempt from conditions. “I propose that the debate and all pertinent issues be held in the city of Bucaramanga”, he stated.

In addition, he demanded that the dialogue include Vicky Davila, Jessica de la Pena and Darcy Quinn as moderators. She also proposed that, together with Petrothree more men were chosen to fulfill the same function as the aforementioned journalists.

The man from Santander also proposed 20 topics for debate. Faced with these requests, the former mayor of Bogotá spoke: “I accept that the debate ordered by justice be held. The debate must be without conditions to the pressLet them ask what they want.”

Behind this, Alphonse Prada, chief debater of the Historical Pact, announced that he had made a request to the Public Media System designated for the meeting. And he said that “there is no will of Rodolfo Hernández to attend the debate.”

Nevertheless, RTVC He reported around noon yesterday that he had not received any joint request from the candidates, a requirement for the meeting to take place.

Late in the afternoon, Rodolfo ruled on the matter. “The other candidate answered the invitation that I made him by means of a public letter affirming: ‘I do not put a condition for that debate. None. I put in the hands of the RTVC public media system all the details of the debate ‘and he concluded by saying: ‘See you in Bucaramanga, of course’“.

Rodolfo pointed out that from the previous response “I deduced that he was not willing to abide strictly by the office, because by asserting that he did not set conditions, he showed that he preferred not to know the precise judicial mandate.”

Hernández assured that Petro, “by stating that he was leaving such a delicate issue in the hands of a third party that it should be resolved in strict adherence to the ruling, showed that he was not willing to abide by the provision in the manner arranged by the office.”

Rodolfo pointed out that he understood the statement “see you in Bucaramanga” as a response that “concluded any possibility of following the judicial mandate”, which had an end for this Thursday, June 16, three days before the presidential election.
