The girl’s drama that continues in ICU after collapse in El Espinal corraleja in Colombia

“He is in critical condition at Intensive Care Unit of the Federico Lleras Hospitalfrom Ibagué,” said Juan Carlos Leal, administrative director of Health in El Espinal.

Luis Eduardo González, manager of the Hospital Federico Llerasassured that the minor “remains in the pediatric ICU with a reserved prognosis and we continue to monitor her health evolution.”

Two other children, who also fell to the ground in the collapse of the bullring, receive pediatric medical attention at the San Rafael Hospital, in El Espinal.

“The condition of these two children is much better, they remain in stable health conditions, they are out of danger,” said Juan Carlos Leal, adding that they have minor fractures in their bodies that are not dangerous.

In total, 27 children who were in the corraleja were treated at hospitals in El Espinal and Ibagué for fractures and injuries.

The tragedy of the corraleja of El Espinal left 352 injured and four dead, including a 14-month-old boy who had been taken to that show by his parents.

The administrative director of Health of El Espinal pointed out that this minor has already been buried and his parents have received psychosocial care from the mayor’s office, as well as aid for the funeral.

Fabio Buitrago, a citizen who suffered a knee fracture, said that his 11-year-old son was also affected with bumps and bruises on his body.

“In the house, two adults and my 11-year-old son were affected, who, fortunately, has been recovering from some blows, because guaduas, wood and many people from the boxes fell on him,” said Buitrago.

He pointed out that in El Espinal It is customary for families to take their children to the corralejas, where there is no entry control.
