2-year-old baby loses his parents in the US 4th of July shooting: “He was bloodied and alone”

Lauren Silva, 38, and her partner were on their way to breakfast when they started hearing gunshots.

“We were barely opening the door when we heard boom, boom, boom,” he told the Daily Beast.

Silva, her boyfriend and his son began to run towards the wounded and suddenly, her boyfriend put a small child in her arms.

“My boyfriend handed it to me and said that the boy was under his father, who had a shot in the leg. The boyfriend was trying to stop her bleeding, and she took the boy to the parking lot of her house, to clean the blood that was on her. The boy was only wearing one shoe and the sock was completely bloody.

“I was wondering if her mom and dad would be back soon.”Silva recalled.

About 20 minutes later, Silva went out to check on the father. It was about Kevin, who did not survive. His wife didn’t make it either.

It was under these circumstances that Dana and Greg Ring found Silva.

“She was shaking, her whole body was shaking”Dana told CBS News. “That made us see that he could take responsibility for the little one.”

Then Greg walked up to aiden. “I put him in my arms.” The boy was not injured. Greg approached little Aiden’s parents and saw what he described as a scene of horror. “It was a butcher shop.”

A doctor who treated the victims would later point out that many were unrecognizable, mangled by bullets. The aggressor fired more than 70 times.

Not knowing what else to do, Greg and his wife took the boy to the fire department. There he was picked up by a police detective from Highland Park and reunited him with his grandparents at the hospital.

Irina Colon created a GoFundMe page to help raise money for aiden.

“The North Shore community came together to help a child we knew nothing about. We got him to safety in tragic circumstances, joined together to locate his grandparents and prayed for the safety of his family,” he explained.

aiden, he detailed, “he will be in the care of his loving family and will have a long road ahead of him to heal, find stability and, ultimately, get along in life as an orphan. He is surrounded by a community of friends and an extended family who will embrace him with love, and whatever means are available to ensure he has everything he needs as he grows.”

However, given the economic challenge involved in caring for him, Irina opened, on behalf of the child’s family, and with their authorization, the page, which until Tuesday afternoon had collected $827,594.
