Activists appear before a judge for throwing tomato soup on a Van Gogh painting | VIDEO

Two environmental activists appeared this Saturday before a British court for having thrown tomato soup on Friday on the painting “The Sunflowers” of Vincent van Goghon the National Gallery of London.

Anna Holland20 years old, and Phoebe Plummer21, pleaded not guilty at his appearance before the district judge so irkamwhich released them on bail pending their trial on December 13 in London.

The frame itself was not damaged.since it was protected by glass, but the frame itself, which suffered “minor damage” as announced by the gallery.

The two activists, belonging to the civil disobedience group “Just Stop Oil”entered the National Gallery and two cans of Heinz soup were dropped on the canvas, painted in 1888 by the Dutch impressionist master and valued at $84.2 million.

With this action, “Just Stop Oil” sought to demand that the British government stop all new hydrocarbon exploitation projects in the country, according to the environmental organization in a statement.
