Berlin: Some 80,000 people parade in support of demonstrations in Iran

Around 80,000 people marched on Saturday in berlin to support the protests in Iran, informed the AFP a police spokesman.

“Today, thousands of people show their solidarity with the brave women and protesters in Iran”, said the German Minister of Familythe ecologist Lisa PausOn twitter.

“We are by your side”, he added.

Among the participants in this demonstration organized by a women’s collective, some carried posters with the slogan “Women, Life, Freedom” (Women, Lives, Freedom), other Kurdish flags.

Under a bright sun, the demonstrators they marched calmly towards the center of the city, the police pointed out.

For more than a month they have been carrying out large scale demonstrations in irantriggered by the death of the young Iranian Kurdish woman Mahsa Amini after his arrest, according to the onegés.

Mahsa Amini, 22 years old, died three days after the morality police arrested her in Tehran for violating the strict dress code of the Islamic Republicwhere the veil is mandatory for all women in public space.

The repression of the protests, the most important in Iran since those of 2019 against the increase in the price of gasoline, have caused at least 122 deaths, including children, according to Iranian Human Rights (IHR), based in Oslo.
