Venezuela prepares for the arrival of a tropical wave of “quite intensity”

The Minister of the Interior and Justice of VenezuelaRemigio Ceballos, reported this Saturday that tropical wave 47 will arrive in the country in the next few days and, as it is a phenomenon of “quite intensity”, forecasts are being taken to mitigate the risks, after several weeks affected by rains.

“All the meteorological studies of the different international agencies are paying special attention to tropical wave number 47, because it shows some signs that it is coming with quite a cloudy intensity”, the official said in a statement that was shared via Twitter by the Ministry of the Interior and Justice.

Ceballos explained that only wave 46 is “arriving” in the country, but he considers that measures should be taken due to the proximity of the next one, although he has not yet announced an estimated date of impact of this phenomenon in Venezuela.

“That (wave 47) is going to generate different conditions before which we must take precautions,” he said.

Venezuela It has experienced intense rainfall in recent weeks that has left numerous landslides and floods in almost all regions, which has resulted in thousands of houses affected, hundreds of victims and dozens of roads destroyed.

In addition, as a result of the rains, streams overflowed and some rivers increased their beds, which has left at least 78 dead in the last two months, 54 of them in the town of Tejerías, 70 kilometers from Caracas, where there was a landslide two weeks ago.
