Children overdose on edible marijuana at Miami school and woman is arrested

According to the arrest report, the student who purchased the marijuana-based edibles had met Aceves through Instagram and then brought the edibles to school, where he shared them with the other students, according to the police arrest report. .

Several children between the ages of 9 and 13 had to be rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami after suffering a possible overdose of THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol, the main psychoactive constituent of cannabis).

According to the authorities’ account, the incident occurred last Wednesday when law enforcement officers and fire crews were called from Citrus Grove elementary and high schools in northwest Miami.

There investigators discovered that one of the students had purchased marijuana edibles off campus and brought them to school.

The investigation used an undercover agent who contacted Aceves to arrange a sale of such groceries. When the girl arrived at the meeting place, she was taken into custody, according to the arrest report.

Detectives seized 50 cannabis-infused vaporizer cartridges, 244 grams of raw cannabis, two packages of cannabis-infused edibles, a digital scale and $400 in cash from Aceves’ home.

“When detectives learned that an unscrupulous individual was preying on children, they moved quickly to ensure the vendor was held accountable.Miami Police Chief Manuel A. Morales said in a statement.

“The Miami Police Department will not tolerate anyone threatening the health and safety of our children,” he claimed.
