Russia warns London of ‘dangerous consequences’ after Black Sea drone attack

Russia warned on Thursday United Kingdom of “dangerous consequences” after the recent attacks on its fleet in the Black Sea, in which London denies any involvement despite Moscow’s accusations.

In a summons from the British ambassador in Moscow, the Russian authorities pointed out that “Such hostile actions by the United Kingdom could lead to an escalation of the situation that could have unforeseeable and dangerous consequences”, Russian diplomacy specified in a statement.

Russia told the ambassador that “Such hostile provocations are unacceptable and must be stopped immediately”according to the same source.

The Kremlin accuses the UK of being responsible of the explosions that damaged the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea in September, built to transport Russian gas to Europe.

The Russian army also accuses “British experts” of being implicated in a Ukrainian drone attack on Saturday against his fleet in Sevastopol Bay, in annexed Crimea.

The British authorities have repeatedly denied these accusations, accusing Moscow of trying to “divert attention” of his military setbacks in Ukraine.

In the statement published on Thursday, Russian diplomacy once again attacked the United Kingdomaccusing “british instructors” to train “spoiler divers” Ukrainians, as well as teaching the Ukrainian military how to operate underwater drones.

The relationships between Moscow and Londonvery tense for several years, have been in an open crisis since the launch of the Russian military offensive against Ukraine.

London has provided strong financial and military support to Kyiv and participates in Western sanctions against Moscow.
