“Shared power curbs the worst excesses of both parties, which is why I recommend voting for a Republican Congress, given that the presidency is Democratic,” the billionaire tweeted to his 114 million followers.

“Hardcore Democrats or Republicans never vote for the other side, so independent voters are the ones who really decide who is in charge!” he added.

The head of Twitter has suggested that he plans to reinstate former President Donald Trump on the social network, although after taking office at the end of October he announced that he will form a committee to evaluate the social network’s future policy on publications and the restoration of blocked accounts.

The former Republican president was suspended for allegedly inciting his supporters to attack Capitol Hill last year in order to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election won by Biden.

Musk’s arrival at the helm of Twitter, where he has laid off almost half of the workforce, raises fears that the site will be inundated with hate speech and misinformation, prompting some companies to temporarily suspend their ads on the social network.
