Zelensky asks the United States on the day of his elections to continue supporting his country

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyurged the United States on Tuesday to maintain its support for Ukraine on a “constant” basis until the country regains its territorial integrity.

In his Telegram account, the Ukrainian president launched this message just on the day that the United States holds legislative elections, which will determine the composition of the House of Representatives and the Senate, where, according to polls, the Republicans could take control, now in the hands of the Democrats.

These results could complicate the second part of the term of the Democrat Joe Biden, the main western ally of Ukraine against the Russian invasion that began on February 24.

In the Republican Party there are sectors that have been in favor of cutting or suspending the economic aid that the United States has been providing to Ukraine for its defense against the Russian invasion.

“Thank you for your support: President Biden, both parties in Congress, and all American citizens! Keep in mind that you are not just supporting a country or its leader, you are supporting millions of people who, like you, appreciate freedom”, Zelensky said.

“It is a great honor to receive the Medal of Freedom. This award really shows how and why the Ukrainian people are fighting. Freedom is the main word for us and what really unites all Ukrainians”, Zelensky specified.
