The boss of the Wagner paramilitary groupwhich fights in Ukraine together with the Russian army, commented on Sunday the alleged execution, with a blow to the head, of one of its former members accused of desertion.
Telegram accounts close to Wagner posted a video in which it is seen how a man, with the head stuck to a block of stoneis hit with a mallet. According to these sources, it would be a soldier from the group who deliberately surrendered to the Ukrainian army and was later captured by the Russians.

“In this show, you see how (this man) did not find happiness in Ukrainebut who found unkind but fair people”, commented Yevgeny Prigozhinboss Wagnerquoted on Sunday by his press service.
“It’s a magnificent job of directing, you can look at it in one go. I hope no animals were hurt on set.” added.

Since 2014, the mercenaries of the wagner group are accused of serving the interests of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s regime in various conflict zones, from Syria to Ukrainepassing through Africa and South America.
In recent months, the group has been actively operating on the Ukrainian front, in support of the Russian army. He is accused of having recruited detainees in Russian prisons, in exchange for sentence reductions.
