Israeli troops kill two Palestinian brothers in the occupied West Bank

Two Palestinian brothers aged 21 and 22 were killed today by Israeli fire in Kfar Ein, a town near Ramallah, in west bank occupied, which is experiencing its most violent year since 2006 with more than 150 Palestinians killed in violent incidents with Israel.

The deceased youths were identified as Dhafer Rimawi, 21, and Jawad Rimawi, 22, by the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

“During a routine Army activity near Kafr Ein, several suspects instigated a violent riot. They threw stones and Molotov cocktails at the soldiers, who responded with riot gear and live ammunition.”confirmed a military spokesman.

The army said the incident in which the two Palestinian brothers were killed is going to be investigated.

These deaths are added to another that occurred at dawn in the city of Beit Ummar, near Hebron, south of west bankwhere another Palestinian died after receiving a bullet to the head by Israeli troops in the armed clashes that broke out in the area, leaving around twenty wounded.

Two military vehicles were stuck in the area due to a technical problem and a group of Palestinians “they threw stones and homemade explosive devices; and they also fired on the soldiers, who responded with riot dispersal means and with live ammunition”the Israeli army reported.

west bank lives its most violent year since 2006, with intense Israeli raids and armed clashes with Palestinians, especially since the end of March when Israel launched Operation “Breaking the Wave” in response to a wave of attacks by Arabs and Palestinians on Israeli soil.

Since then, the violence has been increasing, leaving 153 Palestinians dead so far this year -many militants, but including civilians and minors-, according to the latest count of the Ministry of Health published today, and 29 victims on the Israeli side, 21 of them civilians.

As a result of the “Breaking the Wave” operation, some 3,000 Palestinians “suspected of terrorism” have been arrested, more than 500 attacks have been thwarted and some 250 weapons have been seized, according to Army data.
