Shooting in Uvalde: survivors of the massacre demand 27,000 million dollars from the police

A group of survivors of the shooting uvalde (Texas, United States) have requested 27,000 million dollars from the local police, the school district and several officials of the state security forces and bodies, various US media reported Thursday.

The complaint was filed on Tuesday before a court of Austin (Texas) by relatives of the victims, teachers and workers at the school that on May 24 was attacked by a young man armed with a semi-automatic rifle, in which 19 students and two teachers died.

376 law enforcement officers responded to the event, but waited 77 minutes before entering the building where the attacker massacred the students, collects the CNN network.

According to the lawsuit, those affected “suffered emotional and psychological harm as a result of the conduct and omissions” of law enforcement involved in the response.

The one in Uvalde was one of the bloodiest school shootings in the United Statesa country that has registered more than 2,000 since 1970, according to the NGO Sandy Hook Promise, founded by survivors of the Sandy Hook school massacre.

As a result of the tragedy, the US Congress, very divided between Democrats and Republicans, managed to come up with a package of minimums to limit access to firearms.
