The government of USA announced Thursday approval of a $380 million sale of Stinger man-portable anti-aircraft missiles and other equipment to Finland.
“The proposed sale will enhance the defense and deterrence capabilities of Finland”The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) said in a statement.

“This critical platform will bolster air and ground defense capabilities on Europe’s northern flank, supporting the top priorities of the US European Command.”
The announcement comes more than nine months after the Russian invasion of Ukrainewhich pushed both Finland like Sweden to seek admission to NATOand follows a proposed sale of missiles to helsinki worth $323 million announced Monday.

The State Department approved the possible sale, and on Thursday DSCA provided the required notice to Congress, which has yet to approve the transaction.
