The country in Europe that will train 4,000 Ukrainian soldiers to fight against Russia

A total of 4,000 soldiers from Ukraine they will be trained on Czech territory in 2023 by the Army of the Czech Republic, in mechanized infantry units and specialized jobs, the online newspaper “Seznam Zpravy” reports today.

This is a program carried out under the auspices of the European Union (EU), which will reimburse part of the cost of the operation, estimated at 40 million euros.

There are five Ukrainian training missions planned in the Libavá military maneuver field (east of the country) for next year, lasting four weeks and with a capacity for 800 soldiers each.

Prague has also approved the dispatch of 55 soldiers to command structures, or in the position of instructors, in similar missions projected in other EU countries, where Ukrainians will also be trained, mainly in Polish military bases.

The aim of the EU is provide training for 15,000 Ukrainian soldiers.

The Czech Republic is one of the European countries that is sending the most arms to Ukraine for its defenseincluding tanks of Russian production.

Prague aspires to spend 2% of its GDP on Defense to modernize its Armed Forces, an updated target in the current context of the war in Ukraine and which Prague hopes to achieve by 2024.
