The Embassy of Ukraine in Madrid today received a blood-stained package, like other legations in various European countries, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported on Friday.

“The Embassy of Ukraine in Spain has also received a blood-stained package similar to those that other diplomatic representations have already received”told the agency “Ukrinform” the spokesman of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Oleh Nikolenko.
”The Spanish police have cordoned off the perimeter of the Embassy for security reasons. There are specialists working on the ground and investigative work is being carried out”he added.
The representative of the Ministry had previously informed that diplomatic representations of Ukraine in Hungary, Poland, the Netherlands, Italy and Croatia received packages with blood and animal eyes inside on Friday.

The wrappers themselves were impregnated with a liquid with a characteristic color and odor, he added.
This week an explosive package injured an employee of the Embassy of Ukraine in Madrid, while the Presidency of the Government, the Ministry of Defense, the Torrejón de Ardoz military base and an arms company in Zaragoza received similar shipments.
“We have reason to believe that there is a well-planned campaign of terror and intimidation against Ukrainian embassies and consulates. Unable to stop Ukraine on the diplomatic front, they try to intimidate us.”said today in reference to the incidents the Ukrainian Foreign Minister, Dmytro Kuleba.
