Moscow postpones scheduled meeting with Washington on nuclear disarmament
The United States said it was “disappointed” by Moscow’s decision to indefinitely postpone a meeting scheduled with Washington for inspections under the New START treaty, a key nuclear disarmament deal. State Department spokesman Ned Price denounced Russia’s “sudden and unilateral” decision and said it was “completely wrong” to suggest that the United States could be at fault for postponing the Nov. 29 meeting in Cairo.
Biden ‘doesn’t intend’ to talk to Putin now
The White House clarified comments made by Joe Biden on Thursday, insisting that the US president “did not plan to discuss the Ukrainian case with Vladimir Putin at this time,” National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said. “And, as[Mr. Biden]also said, Putin has shown absolutely no interest in any kind of dialogue – quite the contrary, in fact,” he said.
