Italy: they find the last missing person in the Ischia landslide that left 12 dead

Italian emergency teams today found the body of the last person reported missing in the landslide on the Italian island of Ischia (south), which has resulted in twelve deaths, official sources confirmed to EFE.

The corpse, of a woman, is still in the identification phase but presumably it is that of Maria Teresa Arcamonea 31-year-old neighbor who had not been heard from since the night of the disaster, November 26.

This concludes the strenuous search for almost two weeks for the people officially missing in the landslide on this island facing the Gulf of Naples.

The torrential rains that night caused the detachment of a part of the mountain in the heart of this volcanic island and an avalanche of mud, rocks and debris over the town of Casamicciola Termeon its northern slope.

The officially deceased in the tragedy are twelve: In addition to the woman found today, there is the family of Gianluca Monti and Valentina Castagna, and their three children, Francesco, Maria Teresa and Michele Monti, aged 11, 6 and 16 respectively.

The couple of Eleonora Sirabella and Salvatore Impagliazzo also perished; the marriage of Maurizio Scotto and Giovana Mazzella with their baby Giovangiuseppe, less than a month old, and a 58-year-old Bulgarian woman, Nicolinca Gancheva Blangova.
