France says it supports the “political, democratic and peaceful” solution taken in Peru

France today showed its support for a “political, democratic and peaceful solution” adopted by the Peruvian institutions, alluding to the dismissal and detention of the president until yesterday, Pedro Castillowho tried to prevent his deposition by dissolving the Legislative.

The spokeswoman for the Foreign Ministry said that France “rejects any act contrary to the Peruvian Constitution” and defends “democracy and the rule of law.”

France – added the spokesperson – supports the political, democratic and peaceful solution adopted by the institutions of the Peru and asks all the actors for a dialogue that guarantees the stability of the institutional framework”.

He also asked them to adjust “to the institutional framework.” The Foreign Ministry indicated that PArís follows “with attention” the events that take place in Peru, which led to the dismissal of Castillo.

After the dismissal of Castlethe plenary session of the Peruvian Congress appointed the Peruvian vice president, Dina Boluarteto assume the head of state in his place.
