And those who interact are like a million or a million and a half. But when they launch a message like this… let’s see how many participated, we have to remove the 70%, 80%, 90% that are bots. I only tell the adversaries that the president is taken care of by the people, ”he assured.

According to López Obrador, those who seek to remove him from office act inconsistently because they did not participate in the democratic mechanisms with which they were able to do so at the time.

“What an inconsistency, because the Constitution was amended to establish the revocation of the mandate, they were asked: we are going to participate and let the people decide if they want the president to continue or to resign. And it is a democratic, participatory mechanism, because the people contribute and the people take away. What did you do? They did not participate. They called not to vote,” said the president in reference to the recall referendum held in April of this year.

In said consultation, 91.8% of voters voted for AMLO to remain in power. However, the elections were not binding since they had a participation of only 17.7%, far from the 40% required by Mexican electoral legislation, after the opposition refused to campaign because they considered it a strategy of the president for increase your popularity.

“Now comes another opportunity because in 2024 it will be like a referendum, a consultation, not only will the next president, woman or man, deputies, senators be elected, but also national projects will be decided, different, opposed“López Obrador pointed out about the general elections in two years.

“So, people will be able to say, I want the Transformation to continue or I don’t want it to continue, I want what was back, I want the regime of corruption, injustices, privileges to return. I want them to keep looting us, because we like masochism. Also that they do not eat cravings, that consultation is coming. They did not participate in the intermediate, in the revocation consultation, but there they will have their opportunity, ”he added.

AMLO has been a constant figure during the hectic political months that Peru experienced during the government of Pedro Castillo. The last of those moments occurred precisely when the ousted president tried to carry out a self-coup that was frustrated with his vacancy by the Congress of the Republic.

On Thursday, AMLO confirmed that Castillo tried to seek political asylum at the Mexican embassy in Lima after his ouster. The Mexican president also assured that he ordered his ambassador to open the door of the headquarters located in San Isidro.

Castillo was detained by the National Police before arriving at the Mexican diplomatic headquarters and was directed to a police station located in downtown Lima.
