Taliban forces fire on a border post in Pakistan, causing 6 deaths

Afghan forces linked to the Taliban regime fired on Sunday at people present at a border post between Afghanistan and Pakistan, causing the death of six civilians, announced the Pakistani army, which replied.

More than 12 people were injured by these “unprovoked and indiscriminate shots” near the city of Chaman, in Pakistan’s Balochistan province, the army said.

“Pakistani Border Forces responded appropriately and restrainedly against this unjustified aggression, and avoided shooting innocent civilians in the area”the statement specified.

“Pakistan has also contacted the Afghan authorities in Kabul to point out the seriousness of the situation and ask for strict measures to prevent any further such incidents in the future.”, he added.

The clash took place as Afghan forces tried to close off a part of the border fence, according to a senior Balochistan regional government official.
