Another suspicious fire has broken out in Russia as the country battles amid the war in Ukraine.

Zvezda’s military-linked engineering plant in St. Petersburg caught fire – further fueling rumors that Russia is plagued by sabotage attacks.

The plant produces high-speed diesel engines for military and civilian fleets and engine transmissions for medium-tonnage warships.

It also provides coastal patrol vessels, including vessels deployed in the Black Sea areas occupied by Ukraine.

But officials at the facility – which was used to evade sanctions from Russian defense chiefs – claimed the blaze was in a nearby area and there are no reports of casualties or critical damage.

Two shopping malls in Moscow recently caught fire and the causes have not yet been confirmed.

Videos emerged yesterday of black smoke blanketing Stroypark Mall in the Balashikha suburb as a massive fire broke out at the mega shopping complex in northern Moscow on Friday.

A message on a Telegram channel read: “Fires in Russian malls seem to be breaking out very frequently these days. Is that sabotage… isn’t it?’

Others speculated it could be sabotage by competitors in Moscow as Russia’s economy is weighed down by international sanctions.

Ukrainian driver Igor Sushko shared several videos of the second fire that hit Moscow.

He wrote, “The locals notice that not a day goes by that something doesn’t catch fire.”
